The new Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for Textiles, launched by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, aims to stimulate fresh investments, expand manufacturing capacity, and boost exports in the sector. With an extended application window till December 31, 2025, the scheme offers incentives worth ₹10,683 crore over five years and has reduced investment and turnover thresholds to ensure greater industry participation, including MSMEs. By focusing on man-made fiber (MMF) apparel, technical textiles, and value-added products, the PLI scheme is fostering innovation, creating jobs, and enhancing India's competitiveness as a global textile hub.

A of the revised PLI Scheme focuses on larger investments, requiring textile industry players to invest at least ₹150 crore, with the eligibility for incentives linked to achieving incremental turnover of 10% in man-made fibre (MMF) apparel and fabrics. This part aims to encourage expansion and technology adoption among established manufacturers.
A caters to smaller entities and MSMEs, reducing the minimum investment threshold to ₹50 crore and also linking incentives to 10% incremental turnover. It offers greater flexibility by allowing new units to be set up within existing companies and aims at wider participation across the textile value chain.

Ministry of Textiles
1. There will be a provision of cap of 10% over the prescribed minimum incremental turnover growth of 25% for the purpose of calculation of incentives from Year 2 onward
